While I like to place my focus on UI/UX design, there’s plenty of projects in the design sphere that aren’t exactly that. Between logo’s, posters, branding and everything in between – if you can make it in an Adobe program, I’ve probably given it a crack!
Typographics 2024
Style Guide, Ephemera, Mockups
Mock branding for a typography festival based in NYC.
This assignment saw us rebrand and style the Typographics 2024 festival – placing emphasis on typography and their role in modern design.
This design was based around the idea of digital grunge, highlighting the increased role technology is playing on typefaces and typographic design within a modern era, while also paying homage to its traditional roots.
Items created included designs and mockups for Flags, Posters, Social Media Tiles, Website and Event Program. A style guide was then compiled consisting of everything created.
Fantastic Mr Fox
3x Large PDF's
Typographic experimentation using the script of Fantastic Mr Fox.
This trio of designs is a part of a university assignment focused on typographic techniques and experimentation. In this project, I made use of the screenplay of “Fantastic Mr. Fox” stylizing it to create various scenes of the film.
Three large pages were created and printed onto large A2 pieces of paper. The ‘Ransom Note Generator’ featured further down the page is another of these ‘typographic experiments’.
A Guide To Aussie Music Festivals
Small Booklet / Zine
Small zine highlighting some of Australia’s most prominent music festivals.
Again, this was another university assignment focused on print media and it’s implications within the modern age. This booklet runs through some notable Aussie music festivals – providing a general overview of the ever growing festival scene.
South Korea Travel Guide
Brochure
Tri fold travel brochure for South Korea’s tourism department.
Another uni assignment (couldn’t have guessed that!) This one was effectively a precursor to the above brochure, however I liked the outcome of this so much I thought I had to include it.
Energy Institute Dynamic Identity
Website, Business Cards, Style Guide
Dynamic branding for the Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions.
The last uni assignment, promise. This project focused on the rebranding of the Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions. As part of a creative code course, this assignment challenged us to create a dynamic set of branding for the company. The final set of branding generates and spins the logo based off the current windspeed at the HQ of the business (using an API hooked up to the Beauro of Meterology). It’s a little hard to explain, so feel free to read the presentation if you’d like to know more.
Social Media Creation & Curation
While not a field I’m extremely interested in, I’ve managed and created content for a number of different social media pages.
Most prominently the Simple Pixels social media account – semi-actively posting weekly for the last 3 years. Content for this includes our ‘Tuesday Tips’, Testimonials, New Site Mockups amongst others.
I’ve also created templates and posts for various twitch streamers, online influences and esports tournaments.
Twitch Branding & Panels
As touched apon above, I’ve got a number of friends who are into Twitch streaming and online content creation. As such, I’ve done freelance work for them in the past – creating panels, branding animated overlays, banners, thumbnails, channel emotes and badges amongst others.
These are always super fun to make, and I’m always happy to help out – especially for up and coming streamers or creators who want to feel a bit more unique than the generic stream labs templates. As such, I do these for free when I have spare time – if you’re interested in something like this, hit up my mailbox 🙂
